Day 2 of the 'at rest with vacation - Challenge' - Administration

Day 2 of the "at rest with vacation - Challenge" with today's tips for completing your work well, creating space in your head. One of the causes of stress is having too many things on your mind, making you feel like you have a mountain of work to do and there seems to be no end in sight. This is exactly what you don't want when you go on vacation, so today we have tips on how to create an overview in your business, so that you can complete important matters and go on vacation with enough space in your head.

Sending invoices

A good cash flow in your business is incredibly nice and especially when you go on vacation. Do not leave invoices you still have to send until after your vacation, but send all invoices before you go on vacation. While you are on vacation, the payments will come in again, which is a very nice feeling.

Also check outstanding bills and send reminders so that those payments are paid as well. Keep in mind that many businesses close during the vacation season or have less staffing and therefore delay payments. Therefore, be extra alert for outstanding bills and keep track of which payments are still to come in.

Paying bills

Paying bills is not the most fun part of being in business, but leaving bills lying around causes anxiety. Before you go on vacation, you would do well to create a financial overview for yourself and pay all the bills. It gives a nice feeling when you have paid everything and know what is still to come in.

Quarterly return filing (q2)

You can still file your quarterly tax return until the end of July, which gives you until the last day to pay your income tax. It is nice when you have also completed this and have a good overview of the first 6 months of 2021.

Reflection: looking back 6 months 2021

How did it go the first 6 months of this year? Take another look at the goals you set for yourself, how far have they gone? What went well and where is there still room for growth?

After 6 months it is always a good time to look back at what you have accomplished. Setting goals is of course a good thing to do, but don't be too strict if you haven't yet achieved everything you set yourself as a goal. That gives you insights to see what you can do differently in the next six months to achieve your goals. Do not look only at what you have not yet achieved, but also at what you have achieved.

How are you doing, business-wise and personally?

Planning content ahead

On vacation you probably don't want to be busy writing articles, making videos or posting social media content at all, quite understandably too. An easy way to still stay visible to your (future) clients is to plan some content ahead while on vacation.

You can do this with your mailings, but of course also with your social media content. If you still like to share your knowledge with your loyal supporters while you are on vacation then planning ahead is very nice.
