EXTERNAL COMPLAINTS COMMITTEE WZD/WVGGZ
In addition to our complaints procedure with dispute resolution body especially for freelancers who must comply with the requirements of the Wkkgz, some freelancers also have to deal with the requirements described in the Care and Coercion Act and the Compulsory Mental Health Act.
The Care and Coercion Act and the Compulsory Mental Health Care Act have established that client complaints must be reviewed by an external complaints committee and is a supplement to the complaints procedure as described in the Wkkgz.
WHICH ZZP'S ARE SUBJECT TO THE WZD AND WVGGZ?
Independent professionals who work in the involuntary care or involuntary admission of people with a mental disability and people with a psychogeriatric condition (such as dementia, Alzheimer's) fall under the Care and Compulsory Care Act. Independent professionals who work with patients in whom a mental disorder leads to "dangerous" behavior, either for themselves or for others, are subject to the Compulsory Mental Health Care Act. Zzp'ers working under the Youth Act are also affected.
WHAT IS THE ROLE OF AN EXTERNAL GRIEVANCE COMMITTEE?
The main task of the external complaints committee is to assess complaints in an independent manner, including ruling on any compensation.
A complaint can be submitted to the complaints committee by multiple parties and does not apply only to any complaints made by a client. Complaints that can be submitted to a complaints committee include:

As described above, the requirement for an external complaints committee applies to freelancers who work with patients and have to deal with the Care and Coercion Act, Mandatory Mental Health Act and the Youth Act.
